After Christmas, you can take your real Christmas tree to our
recycling centre in Morden, or we can collect and compost your real Christmas tree for free. Please place your tree at the front edge of your property by Sunday 8 January 2017, otherwise we cannot guarantee collection.
It should be placed outside the front of your property so it is visible from the pavement, but not on the pavement. All collections will be made by 29 January 2017.
When leaving your tree out for collection, please remove the decorations and place your tree at the front of your property from 6am, where it can be clearly seen from the road, but not on the pavement.
The trees we collect are either composted or turned into chippings which will be used as a mulch to spread on flower beds.
Reduce waste: buy a tree with roots
If you have a garden, why not buy a Christmas tree with roots next year? You can replant it in a tub or in your garden to reuse each year. This is better for the environment, as the tree will absorb carbon dioxide while growing throughout the year.
